It’s been found that parts of David Cameron’s speech during an official trip to Russia weren’t translation and placed on the Kremlin’s website.
The BBC Russian service informed that elements of the speech which appeared on the English language edition associated with the actual site didn’t be visible on the actual Russian language version.
The line that failed to show up translated was: “We discussed the need to ensure security and confidence for Georgia and Russia implementing the 2008 ceasefire in full.”
It had been believed by some that the phrase had been politically delicate and eliminated by the Russian government, interestingly this has been declined.
“It is an established practice that we consider the way the words of a foreign guest have been rendered by his interpreter to be the official translation,” reported a spokesperson for the Russian President.
“A possible explanation of this discrepancy is that Cameron’s British interpreter did not translate that sentence into Russian. He apparently missed it out by mistake.”
